Discover & Go Museum Passes by Oakland Public Library

December 19, 2022

What is Discover & Go?

Discover & Go is a program provided by your library that offers free and low-cost passes for museums, science centers, zoos, theatres, and other cultural destinations. You must be at least 14 years old and live in Oakland, Emeryville, or Piedmont to use Discover & Go through the Oakland Public Library.

Discover and Go, developed by Contra Costa County Library, is a nationally recognized partnership between libraries and museums offering library cardholders from every community, age group and economic background free and low-cost tickets to world-class museums, theatres, aquariums, zoos and science centers. The program allows cultural venues to reach out to people who haven't visited them or don't know about them; enables libraries to bridge the gap between books and hands-on cultural experience; and offers the public the chance to explore fun cultural opportunities.

How Do I Get a Pass?

  • Log in with your library card number and PIN.
  • Browse for passes by date or attractions.
  • Make your reservation.
  • Print or download your pass shortly before your visit.

You can have two active reservations per library card.

If you reserve a pass and do not use it or cancel the reservation, the unused pass will count towards your limit. Once you print or download your pass, you cannot cancel your reservation. Your pass is non-transferable. You must show valid ID when you use your pass.

Please note that some attractions around California are still temporarily closed or limiting their hours and exhibits due to Coronavirus safety measures. Please check their website for status if you have passes reserved.
