Notice of Intent to Apply for 21st Century Community Learning Center Grants

November 11, 2021

The University of California Berkeley (UCB) Graduate School of Education notifies the community of its intent to apply to the California Department of Education for funding for two programs that support academic enrichment during non-school hours: the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) Elementary and Middle School Program, and the 21st Century After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens program (ASSETs).

The 21st Century CCLC program helps students meet state and local academic standards in core subjects, such as reading and math, offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement the regular academic program, and offers educational services to the families of students participating in programs in charters and private schools in Alameda County.

The 21st Century ASSETs program provides the implementation of academic enrichment opportunities and activities designed to complement students’ regular academic program and that support college and career readiness, assist with literacy and related educational development services for families of these students, and provide a safe environment for students participating in programs in charters and private schools in Alameda County.

Private and charter schools interested in participating in the UCB collaborative application may contact Adrienne Herd at aherd@berkeley.edu or 510-919-4348 no later than Monday, November 15, 2021.

This announcement serves as public notice of our intent to apply.
