St. Elizabeth School

History

Founded in 1893, St. Elizabeth School has been serving the community of Fruitvale in Oaklang for over 125 years, providing quality education for children from transitionalo kindergarten through eighth grade for seceral generations. The Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose, the founders of the school, and the Dominican presence continues to be strong in the school, with two current Dominican Sisters on staff. St. Elizabeth is committed to teaching the Gospel message in a safe, loving, and academically rigorous environment, with Dominican and Franciscan educational traditions of truth and peace in place.

St. Elizabeth School has been a part of the ECUC 21st Century CLC ELP program since 2005.

Saint Elizabeth Elementary School is a Catholic faith community committed to teaching the Gospel message in a safe, loving and academically rigorous environment, grounded in the Dominican and Franciscan educational traditions of truth and peace.Parents, as primary educators, teachers and staff strive to educate the individual with dignity by challenging all students to reach their full potential, stimulating intellectual curiosity and fostering service. Charism through the Dominican sisters is based on four pillars: we pray, we learn, we serve, and we preach the good news. St. Elizabeth is also one of the seven Catholic schools within the network of Lumen Christi Academies across Diocese of Oakland.
