The 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) program is a federally funded program, administered by the California Department of Education and is designed to provide expanded learning opportunities to students and their parents. The program provides funding for the “Eastbay Collaborative for Underserved Children” (ECUC) which is a University, School, and Community Partnership to Develop 21st Century Skills led by the University of California, Berkeley (UCB) Graduate School of Education under the guidance of Principal Investigator Glynda Hull.
The collaborative includes community partners, 2 Catholic schools, and the Diocese of Oakland. The ECUC schools are:
- Saint Anthony Catholic School, Oakland
- Saint Elizabeth Catholic School, Oakland
The project serves approximately 800 students with before, after, and summer expanded learning programs and provides opportunities for students to improve their academic skills while participating in fun, positive, and enriching educational activities.
